1.  Position Title: Service Technician

Department: Service

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Directly responsible to provide ongoing technical support to customers, end users, distributors and sales team to ensure optimum customer satisfaction. Assist with manufacturing, supply chain, shipping, and facility operations as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Based in Sunnyvale, CA to provide technical support for worldwide locations
    • Maintain a high level of personal standards and conduct
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve and/or repair AEssense equipment remotely or in the field as required
    • Explain and train AEssense associates, customers, and others on product maintenance and service
    • Provide support 24/7 on a rotating basis
    • Travel as needed to provide field support, sometimes with short notice
    • Possess a thorough knowledge of company’s service programs and implement according to the highest customer service standards
    • Troubleshoot and repair to the assembly/component level
    • Document service and support actions; record test and performance data
    • Provide support for customer’s technical questions and problems by phone, smart app, email, etc.
    • Collaborate with the other departments and share information across the organization
    • Report product failures and concerns into the AEssense Quality Corrective Action system
    • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • University bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred, or in place of a degree, 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Positive, collaborative attitude towards problem-solving
    • Ability to deliver high quality documentation with attention to detail
    • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Self-motivated, innovative, and creative
    • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in writing and/or verbally
    • Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule
    • Ability to work independently without much supervision; ability to manage time effectively
    • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending and lifting of heavy equipment
    • Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to operate a forklift
    • Ability to travel within and out of the United States

2.  POSITION TITLE: Horticulture Specialist

DEPT.: Plant Science

REPORTS TO: Director of Global Plant Sciences

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing individual to help build our Plant Science team. The Horticulture Specialist will have a primary role in ensuring customer success, by providing direct technical support primarily related (but not limited) to cannabis cultivation in the AEtrium system. This is an exciting position to help expand our Plant Science and Cultivation support. The Horticulture Specialist will be the bridge between the Grow Partner (customer) and the company to ensure customer success as well as improve quality and advance product development. This individual will work closely with sales, service, hardware, and software teams. This role will be based out of Sunnyvale, CA but may require regular domestic and possible international travel.

Summary of Duties (included, but not limited to):

    • • Lead customer training for cannabis cultivation
      • Consult with customers to assure that they are successful when they are growing in AEssense products (Proactive outreach to customers), address customer cultivation issues in near real time (phone, email, travel)
      • Support Service Team with commissioning, build out, and technical support
      • Work with sales to help address customer cultivation issues and close sales (some travel required) which can include but is not limited to travel to customer sites and attending shows and conferences.
      • Work with product marketing to develop new products and services while providing positive feedback to hone current products
      • Work with worldwide cultivation team members to help drive research that will improve our products and the customer experience
      • Remain up to date on research developments for specialty crops in controlled environments
      • Shared responsibilities in maintaining a working and presentable AEtrium demonstration/R&D space at Sunnyvale headquarters to best reflect AEssenseGrows.
      • May be required to take on tasks outside of the primary roles of Horticultural Specialist.

Required Qualifications:

    • • Bachelors’ Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or related degree from a reputable university
      • Knowledgeable of growing methods including nutrient management, cultural practices
      • Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as diagnostic and IPM processes
      • Efficient work ethic with application of problem-solving skills to overcome cultivation/production issues.
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in written and oral formats
      • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently or among teams
      • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
      • Possesses a high level of critical thinking
      • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
      • Must have accountability, proactive behavior, strong attention to detail. Can follow company policies and contribute towards the goal of achieving production targets within set timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • • 5 years of experience in a licensed commercial cannabis production
      • Customer service experience
      • Experience growing in aeroponics
      • Experience developing SOP’s for cultivation practices
      • Experience working with diverse teams
      • Development of production plants, nutrient and environmental recipes
      • Experience with greenhouse or indoor cultivation and HVAC software management tools

IMPACT OF THIS POSITION

This position in-directly effects sales volume through product performance research and customer support. This role should also continuously monitor competitor products and strategies, and refocusing AEssense products as needed.

SUPERVISION:

    • • The incumbent is expected to manage his/her own schedule and to seek assistance from the Director of Global Plant Sciences as required to complete the job.
